Drop letters are delivered door to door with regard to installation times and various other information pertaining to the geyser control units. Please give the installers you full co-operation when they call at your premises to perform the installations.
WHAT IS A GEYSER CONTROL SYSTEM?City Power Control Centre are able to continuously measure the demand for electrical power throughout its area of supply. At peak demand times, computer-based load management systems broadcast control signals to receiver control units that are installed at the consumer's premises. These control units are able to interrupt the electricity supply to the geyser, so providing a mechanism to centrally control a substantial portion of the electrical load and reduce the demand for power when necessary, to avoid power failures in your area. Geyser controls do not need to be installed on solar and gas geysers. WEEKDAYS and weekends GEYSERS controlling times On weekdays your geyser will be controlled between 07h00 to 10h00 in the morning, and again between 18h00 to 20h00 in the evening. On Saturdays your geyser will be controller between 09h00 to 12h00 in the morning and between 18h00 to 20h00 in the evening. Once the geyser control units have been installed customers should not switch off the geyser isolator in the distribution board, as this may affect the operation of the geyser If customers encounter any hot water problems after City Power has visited their premises or for any other queries, please contact our Customer Call Centre on 086 056 2874 (All hours).

 Our regular community event is Park Day, held in conjunction with the Auckland Park Residents' Association and the Brixton Community Forum on the Second Saturday of every month.
Tea garden to raise funds for the Brixton Community Forum events and park maintenance. R35 buys you tea or coffee and slice of delicious cake made by Agnes from Zietsies (her cakes a world famous!) Come and sit under the trees and indulge in one of life's greatest pleasures!Clean up includes picking up litter on the Brixton Steps and weeding in Kingston Frost Park. Roll up your sleeves and help us make Brixton beautiful! Kids will be entertained at the Club House next to the tennis courts with cupcake decorating and an Easter egg hunt. Artists can keep busy in the alley near the Water Tower between Barnes and Fulham - bring a small paintbrush and old clothes that you don't mind getting dirty, and get to work with paint kindly donated by Riaan Jacobs and his company, Dream Sets. This will be epic when it's finished! Can't wait! Please bring a hat - it's hot out there! We will be collecting batteries, printer ink cartridges, energy-saving compact fluorescent light bulbs for recycling at every Park Day. SATURDAY, 1 APRIL In the 1890s Brixton and neighbouring Auckland Park, were home to infamous “slaughter houses” which were “without exception dirty and in bad condition and… a perfect disgrace”. So it must have been a relief when, in 1902, the suburb was surveyed for residential development. Its proximity to both the City and the mines ensured that stands were soon sold and built on, and it developed into a bustling, working class neighbourhood. So it comes as no surprise then that residents were involved in the 1922 strike - in a dramatic episode strikers were driven off the Brixton ridge where their positions were bombarded by artillery and by attacks from the air. In the 1980s it would be among the first suburbs in the City to throw off apartheid segregation, and today it stands on the cusp on another dramatic change, and is likely to see densification and transformation of its fabric as part of the Corridors of Freedom initiative.
