Event Timing: 3PM on 12 October 2024
Event Address: Kingston Frost Park, corners of Putney and Chiswick Roads, Brixton Rules Entries close: 1 October 2024 The Brixton Bake Off Competition (Cupcake Edition) will be held on Saturday 12 October at Kingston Frost Park. Here are the contest rules and basic information: When is what happening? Setup begins at 14:00. Setup must be completed by 14:50. You will have half of a trestle table as your space to display your cupcakes. Judging will be from 15:00. The winner will be announced afterwards. Contestants must be present during tasting to give a brief description of the cupcake and answer any questions. Who can enter? Anyone who lives, goes to school or university, or works in Brixton or the immediate area can enter (Melville, Westdene, Crosby, Mayfair, Vrededorp, Jan Hofmeyer, Milpark, Braamfontein Werf). Categories are kids with a bit of adult assistance, under 18s without adult assistance, amateurs and professionals. What is required? The theme is Brixton Beautiful. All cupcakes need to be made from scratch. |
When? Every Monday from 17:00-17:30
Where? Kingston Frost Park tennis courts, corner Putney and Chiswick Roads
What to bring? Gloves, rubbish bags and litter pickers to pick up litter in the park. We will have spares for anyone who doesn’t have these things, so feel free to just pitch up and pitch in. Contact: [email protected]
We will move to other areas of Brixton once we have a proper rhythm going, but we are starting with the park. A Brixton resident has kindly offered to take the bags directly to the dump afterwards. We would love many hands to make light work.
